Booking Procedure
Step 1
The Athens Yachts team will guide you seamlessly through every step of the journey, starting from your initial inquiry to selecting the perfect yacht and concluding with your disembarkation. We are committed to providing assistance for any requirements you may have. Our objective is to meticulously manage all details, crafting a splendid yacht charter experience tailored to your unique preferences. Based on your budget, dates, guest count, and yacht availability, we will present a well-suited selection for your consideration. Once you’ve chosen a specific yacht, we proceed to the next phase to secure your reservation.
Step 2
A MYBA Charter Agreement will be sent to you for signature and 50% of the charter fee will be due as a deposit to secure the desired yacht. The balance, which is 50% of the charter fee, plus VAT, plus the Advance Provision Allowance (APA), delivery/redelivery fees (if applicable) are due 30 days prior to the commencement of the charter. The Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) is a prepayment to cover operating expenses onboard during the charter such as fuel, food & beverages, berthing fees, port charges, agency fees, and anything extra required. The usual percentage is between 30% – 40% of the charter fee. The captain oversees the APA and is in liaison with the crew, who will fully provision and fuel the yacht, having it ready for you on the day of embarkation. Finally, the Captain provides an itemized APA report recording all expenses throughout the charter for your review during your charter and/or prior to disembarkation. If there are any funds remaining, these will be returned; otherwise, if the APA is surpassed then this must be reimbursed.
Step 3
Around the time the final payment is due 30 days prior to the commencement of the charter, Athens Yachts will send you a form to be filled out in as much detail as possible. This questionnaire describes the preferred activities, food & drinks preferences, medical conditions, dietary and allergy requirements, and any other special requests of all guests onboard. This form serves as a guide for the captain & crew to better know their guests and prepare all details appropriately, hence creating a customized and unique experience and ensuring a perfect leisure time onboard.

What is included in the charter rate?
The charter rates include the actual rental and usage of the yacht with its equipment and the full crew onboard. As described under the MYBA Charter Agreement, this entails that the yacht will be delivered to the charterer equipped with all necessary gear, adequately insured, and including a professional and experienced crew. The charterer is responsible for covering additional operational expenses, encompassing, but not limited to, fuel for both the yacht and its tenders, local taxes, pilotage, marina fees, provisions, beverages, spirits, and consumables for the charterer’s party. Any supplementary onboard arrangements, such as shoreside excursions, will also be at the charterer’s expense. This comprehensive approach to charter rates aims to provide transparency and clarity regarding the financial responsibilities associated with the charter experience.
Water Toy Equipment & license
Use of personal water craft in certain locations is only permitted subject to the operator having the appropriate license and meeting local regulations.This refers to most mechanically operated equipment such as jet skis and wave runners.
Crew gratuities
At the conclusion of the charter, it is customary to leave a gratuity for the crew, typically from 10% and over, contingent upon your satisfaction. The decision to tip is entirely at your discretion as well as the percentage, and it is not obligatory. Additionally, if there are remaining funds from the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA),these funds will be returned back to you or can also be allocated to cover gratuities for the crew. Your expression of appreciation through a gratuity is valued by the crew, reflecting your acknowledgement of their service during the charter experience
Preference Form
A preference form will be given to you to fill out prior to the commencement of the charter. This will include any specific requirements or requests such as rental equipment, flight details, hotel reservations, birthday celebrations, engagements or special occasions, flower arrangements, food preferences, any medical conditions including any allergies or medication, as well as any transfer arrangements to be made. We ask that you fill it in as much detail as possible and return it ideally a month before embarkation, allowing the crew sufficient time to prepare for the perfect charter experience.
Insurance
In the event of unexpected circumstances, it is highly advisable to safeguard your investment by acquiring a cancellation and curtailment insurance policy. Additionally, guests aboard should secure their own Charterer liability Insurance as well as personal accident and medical insurance, with insurance coverage for their personal belongings
